The catalan beaches have their own personnality.

Some of them are naked and others are decent.

Some are traditional and other more fluid and inclusive.

You get there differently and each of them add their own spice to the mediterranean sea.

Here is a collection of some of the best ones accessible from Barcelona for the day, but also an idea of their respective vibe.

(Vilanova i la Geltrú)

Access: RENFE R2 to Vilanova + 20-min walk past the marina

Why go:

Tiny rocky cove hidden behind the lighthouse.

Crystal waters, calm even in August, no services.

Great for reading, sketching, or floating for hours.

Tip: Ideal midweek. Stop at the fish market in Vilanova first.
